Being a Nanny / Manny

Nannies and Mannies conduct all childcare related responsibilities within the home. Daily tasks may vary greatly between families, caring for one or multiple children. Oftentimes Nannies and Mannies will take on additional responsibilities within the home related to the care of the children.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the daily care, nurturing and supervision of the children, either full or shared charge
  • Imparting structure on behalf of the Principals through established benchmarks
  • Guiding the children through homework assignments, tutoring and educational reinforcement
  • Instructing the children in additional languages as requested by the family
  • Arranging extracurricular activities and play dates from registration, to scheduling, transportation, and supervision
  • Creating trusting, educational, safe and inspiring environments for the children, as well as a supportive and nurturing relationships with the Principals

Skillset Required

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to schedule appointments
  • Creativity and patience when facilitating activities
  • High-energy and stamina to be able to keep up with young children

Being a Baby Nurse

Baby Nurses are hired for a contracted period of time to support a family with specialized and regimented newborn care.

Core Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the general safety of the newborn, as well as providing care for the newborn on a 24/7 basis
  • Assisting in the daily care, supervision and nurturing of the newborn including but not limited to bathing, changing diapers, feeding, etc.
  • Establishing and maintaining specific sleep and napping schedules, as well as feeding routines, and developmental benchmarks
  • Organizing the child’s nursery, as well as tracking and managing baby supplies, sterilizing items and specialty laundering of the child’s clothing, sheets, bibs and swaddles

Skillset Required

  • Experience creating and implementing healthy schedules for newborn
  • Above average hygiene and sanitizing practices; implements practices to ensure newborn’s safety
  • CPR and First Aid Certified
  • Extreme attention to detail
