Thursday – Monday, 10 AM – 8 PM with NY summer travel

Private Star Island family seeks a meticulous, hard working, dedicated and seasoned Executive Housekeeper to assist with the full time daily cleaning, care, laundry, service and management of their primary 16,000 sqft. Miami home. The position consists of a 5-day flexible workweek, roughly 10:00am – 8:00pm, Thursday through Monday, with a need for overriding flexibility. (Days off will primarily be Tuesday and Wednesday.)

The ideal candidate must have ample experience working in a private residence with exceptional attention to detail, understanding of full-range Housekeeping & Laundry duties, attention to special surfaces and meticulously maintained interiors, and a drive to succeed at all costs. No childcare is required, however, there are four children in-residence (all of whom speak/are learning Spanish,) so the ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a home with children and additional childcare staff. Spanish is a tremendous plus for not only the children, but for dealing with all local vendors, contractors and additional household staff.

Though FL is the primary residence for the youthful family of six, they do travel frequently to their additional residences in New York City and the Hamptons, where travel will be asked of the candidate for the months of July and August. While traveling, private live-in accommodations will be supplied. The ideal candidate will have ties to NY so while traveling, he/she feels comfortable and familiar.

This will be a uniformed position, though the family is not formal day-to-day.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Maintaining the Miami-based primary residences for guest readiness at all times
• Extensive daily cleaning, care and laundry throughout home with mainly organic-based cleaners; providing meticulous attention to polishing silver and other fine surfaces (wood, marble, cork, stone, granite, etc.)
• Laundering sheets and towels 1 x per week, while not exceeding laundry more than 2 x per week
• Following the household manual and adhering to the appropriate protocols for cleaning throughout the home; properly following the provided directions & instructions
• Packing and unpacking clothes for travel with an emphasis on closet and household organization
• Running errands and carrying out special requests as needed; maintaining household supplies, stock levels and inventories
• Floral arrangements around the residence upon special request
• Making beds daily throughout the residence and assisting with turn-down service
• Managing items that have been sent out for professional dry cleaning service
• Overseeing vendors and contractors throughout the home; ensuring the home is met on an appointment-only basis
• Taking bids and performing research when renovations or projects are required; ensuring the family is not overpaying for unnecessary services
• Driving the family to and from airports, occasionally to appointments and/or school, etc., both in FL as well as in NY
• Working positively and proactively with the family’s additional staff (Nannies, Chef and Executive Personal Assistant)
• Assisting with feeding and walking the family’s small dog, as well as feeding the family’s fish
• Spending overnights in the residence on special occasions if the family is out late; a private room and bath will always be provided
• Providing formal service for special events, holidays and family gatherings, as needed
• Additional Housekeeping, Laundry and Household Management-related tasks as needed and per request
 
 
Requirements:

• Strong command of English language and communication skills, both written and verbal; Spanish a STRONG plus
• Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
• Minimum 3 – 5+ years related experience working in a formal / semi-formal private home in a similar role(s)
• Experience with museum quality cleaning and care for: antiques, silver, fine art, wood, granite, marble, etc.
• MUST have prior experience using organic cleaning agents and solvents; residence is primarily a chemical-free home
• Knowledge of fine fabric care (cashmere, silk, linen, etc.)
• Proficiency operating a commercial sheet press and professional Miele steam iron
• Active and agile; able to easily move throughout an expansive residence with ease
• Ability to craft floral arrangements and change water, etc.
• Proficiency with formal service for special events, gatherings and holidays
• Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities; MUST be a go-getter
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; must maintain an a supportive and empowering mentality
• Willingness to work in a residence with pets; some dog feeding and walking, as well as feeding the salt-water fish, will be required
• Valid Drivers License; willing and able to run errands (supply procurement, grocery shopping, etc.) upon request; willing and able to drive family as needed to airports, school, etc.
• Valid US work authorization; legally able to work in the US for any employer
