Private Los Angeles client seeks professional, dedicated, and creative Private Chef to oversee and manage all daily culinary needs and operations out of the clients’ West and East coast properties. This is a full-time, five-day flex work schedule, approximately Wednesday to Sunday with a need for OVERRIDING flexibility and willingness to work additional days and weekends. This role will require to prepare Lunch and Dinner, and occasionally Breakfast. This position would transition into a live-in role during the summer season in the Hamptons where private accommodations will be provided. While this role is primarily based in Los Angeles, the position requires full flexibility to travel between Los Angeles, New York City, the Hamptons, and additional locations as needed. The ideal candidate will have a proactive mindset as the role will require to package and leave meals for the Principal on days off. During the workweek, the candidate will also be asked to prepare household staff meals. The Principal will entertain guests and/or family members in a small setting on a weekly basis.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Creating and designing weekly menus with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients
• Overseeing all elements of hospitality, food, and beverage service within the residence
• Responsible for grocery shopping and supply procurement
• Organizing and maintaining kitchen; ensuring pantry is stocked at all times; maintaining inventories
• Managing food production private events
• Sanitizing and cleaning the kitchen after each session
• Managing kitchen operations in secondary residences; traveling to residences with Principal
• Additional general Private Chef duties upon request
| | | Requirements:
• Strong command of English language; superior communication skills, both written and verbal
• Minimum 5+ years related experience working in a private home in a similar home
• Culinary Arts degree from an accredited school PREFERRED
• Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
• Ability to fully manage kitchen cleaning, stocking, serving, maintenance, etc.
• Strong fresh, seasonal and farm-to-table cooking skills
• MUST have positive, pleasant, and team-player attitude; strong service-oriented mindset
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Polished, poised and professional in both mindset and manor; use of utmost discretion at all times
• Flexibility in scheduling; willingness to work long hours and overtime as needed
• Computer and technology savvy with proficiency in Mac and/or PC systems
• Valid Driver’s License; confident driver with zero points on license
• Valid Passport: ability and willingness to travel internationally and domestically as needed
• Legally able to work within the United States
