A family in Larchmont, and Tannersville, NY seeks an experienced and capable Executive Housekeeper to assist with the cleaning and management of their homes. This position consists of a five-day workweek, roughly 40 hours per week, but with hours to be agreed and flexible with the reasonable requirements of the family’s and the Domestic’s schedules. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, and able to maintain both homes, but in a manner that is sensitive to the family’s priorities on creative work, study, and educational activities, and is not in any way that is intrusive. The candidate will travel using one of the family’s cars to and from Larchmont and Tannersville during the summer, on some school breaks, and select weekends. Travel to and from the two houses will routinely take place in advance of the family’s departure so as to prepare each place for their arrival. In Tannersville, the position is live-in. Should the candidate require live-in in Larchmont, accommodations will be provided.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Top quality cleaning; proficiency in maintaining high quality furniture and associated materials; comfort with protocols for maintaining, rare, musical instrument
• Maintaining tidy and orderly storage areas (closets, cupboards, shelves, etc.)
• Laundry, including washing, and ironing clothes and sheets
• Creating and maintaining inventories for pantry, fridge, freezer, cleaning supplies of all types, maintenance supplies of all types, linen of all types, etc.
• Management of wardrobes, including delicates washing and dry cleaning
• Packing and unpacking for travel, especially to and from second home
• Deep cleaning of kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, play areas, including light fixtures, windows, trim and sill surfaces, shelves, drawers, including organizing assistants to take up rugs, move furniture, etc., all on a schedule to be agreed
• Making the family aware of any necessary repairs and ability to manage them with service providers to completion
• Additional Executive Housekeeper responsibilities and duties as reasonably requested by the family

• Strong command of English language; speaking, reading, and writing
• Fluency in French a Plus – French is the second language in the household
• Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
• Minimum 5 - 10+ years of experience working in a private home
• Valid Driver’s License, confident driver with a clean driving record
• Experience working in a home with young children; willing and able to step in and help with the children as necessary – there is a childcare team in place
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Interest in and ability to work with the family to create and optimize protocols and routines
• Flexibility in scheduling with the willingness to work varying hours to be reasonably agreed
• Polished, poised, and professional manner; but not overly formal
• Can-do attitude, no duty too large or too small
• Habit of clear-direct communication to manage and adapt goals and routines
• Legally able to work in the United States
