Description:

Prominent family seeks an experienced Assistant House Manager / Executive Housekeeper to work with the House Manager to ensure seamless service for the principal, adult children, and guests when traveling to the NYC residence. A “no task too big or too small” attitude is required, as the role requires a broad range of responsibilities. The ideal candidate has a passion for providing exceptional hospitality and anticipating needs in an immaculate and beautiful environment. This individual must be able to work with and oversee a team of part-time deep cleaning staff and take direction well from the House Manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Ensuring the smooth operation of a private residence with a “boutique hotel” atmosphere
• Keeping all bedrooms, common areas, and amenities guest-ready at all times
• Deep and maintenance cleaning and laundry services as needed
• Liaising with and overseeing vendors and contractors
• Packing and unpacking for Principal and certain guests as directed
• Make beds; turn down service; change linens as required
• Maintain supply inventory to generate shopping lists
• Receive packages and deliveries
• Event preparation and hosting for social and work-related client gatherings, general entertaining, etc.
• Setting tables and serving daily meals and for events
• Maintenance of house calendar; fielding calls, etc.
• Assisting with cooking light meals, snacks, etc
• Providing communication surrounding home events, appointments, maintenance and repairs
• Securing all needed home equipment, supplies and services as required
• Acting as all-around gatekeeper for family
 
 
Requirements:

• Strong command of English language required
• Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
• Minimum 3 - 5+ years related experience working in a private home or high-end hotels
• Experience with and knowledge of museum quality cleaning
• General working knowledge of all systems ie HVAC, generators, security, etc
• Ability to set formal and informal tables, and provide food service
• Light cooking and meal prep preferred
• Proficiency in Mac computer systems, iPhone, smarthome systems and related technologies
• Adept in managing and supervising household staff; liaising relationships with outside vendors
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Utmost discretion and confidentiality in all matters both business and personal
• Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities; prioritization and multitasking
• Flexibility in scheduling with additional travel and overtime as needed
• OK with both children and pets; one yellow lab in residence
• Valid Drivers License a plus
• Valid Passport a PLUS
• Legally able to work in the United States
