Private Upper East Side client seeks a highly efficient Director of Properties to oversee all maintenance and operations across three residences, as well as seamlessly manage domestic staff across all properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private home management, service and hospitality. This position is for a smart, hardworking and flexible candidate who can clearly and effectively communicate in a respectful and fast-paced working environment. The candidate must be willing to travel to the client’s secondary residences in the Hamptons and Palm Beach County. Travel would occur mostly to accomplish projects when principals are not in-residence as each house is fully staffed for when the principals are there.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Managing day-to-day household functions of several residences & staff management including conflict resolution, hiring, and training
• Be able to lead and manage domestic staff including: Property Managers, Housekeepers, Chef, Drivers, and Childcare professionals
• Liaising between principals and domestic staff; able to delegate and manage other staff accordingly
• Suggesting new ideas, more efficient ways of doing things and establish best practices and create systems and processes
• Implementing and managing HR for domestic staff including: recruiting, training and development, performance reviews, staff schedules, benefits and compensation and maintaining confidential records
• Developing and implementing company policies and employee manuals
• Acting as Principals’ representative for major construction and renovation projects
• Reconciling and approving all vendor & service provider invoices
• Attending events and/or meetings as the principals’ representative
• Working with CFO to create budgets for each home
• Reviewing and authorizing household bills and vendor selection
• Identifying, researching, and negotiating large purchases such as watercraft and vehicles on principals’ behalf
• Overseeing events including large personal celebrations, charity events, and domestic staff events
• Researching and development for special projects

• 4 year degree from an accredited College or University required
• Minimum of 7 – 15+ years related experience providing Personal Service to private family in a similar role/capacity
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Creative and intuitive in problem-solving; extremely resourceful with a high degree of situational awareness
• Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills; strong follow-up and attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm and composed during demanding periods; strong sense of urgency
• “Hands-on”, proactive, and motivated with a “can do” attitude
• Ability to adapt to different situations and relationships - a fast learner
• Adept in all aspects of Mac and PC operating systems including Microsoft Office Suite and smart-home technology; strong iPhone and Crestron skills
• Proactive about most efficient and proper ways to run a household under the Principal’s direction
• Comfortable working in a home with children and a pet – no allergies to dogs
• Willing and able to work long hours and overtime as needed; 24/7 remote availability
• Valid Driver’s License; confident driver with zero points
• Valid Passport; willing and able to travel with the family as needed to secondary residences domestically
