Description:

Couple located in Greenwich, CT is looking for an experienced and talented Food Service Manager and Lead Private Chef to join their residential team and take full charge of the culinary services for the family. This exciting position will allow for creativity, shaping of the food program and kitchens and will be the perfect position for a chef looking to be at the helm of it all! This position is generally Monday-Friday with some pre-weekend prep work and some needs for flexibility to work weekends, early mornings, late evenings, and holidays as requested. The ideal candidate will be a healthy and hungry with a clean lifestyle.

Responsibilities:
• Fulfill responsibilities of Food Service Manager and Lead Private Chef at the following locations: main residence in Greenwich, CT, an offsite office in Greenwich, CT, a secondary residence located in NYC. Possibility of one or two special trips with Couple per year as events and schedules demand.
• Directly supervise and manage Sous Chef position.
• Cook lunch and dinner for owners daily as required by schedule. Cooking and delivering lunch and meeting snacks to office as required. Cooking lunch for staff at residence daily. Providing meals for special meetings, evening events, weekend parties, guest stays and holidays at residences. Leaving breakfast staples and quick prep options for the owners the night prior. Some pre-weekend food prep work required at times.
• Plan, coordinate, serve and supervise all special events held at the residence from small dinner parties to large indoor and outdoor events. Source, hire and supervise additional staff as needed for events.
• Responsible for household food inventory including buying, storing, hygiene and sanitation as well as efficient cost management.
• Enroll in special food preparation classes as requested by employer to learn new cooking techniques.
• Coordinate weekly food service schedule with multiple offices using Mac and Outlook applications/Calendar management
• Ongoing sourcing of healthy food techniques, local farm to table purveyors.
• Record favorite meals of the employers and work continuously on new recipes and repertoire.
• Manage residence food gardens and food garden vendors.
• Mange all wine cellars.
• Report expenses and approvals through Concur systems.
• Comply with requested security and HR trainings as requested.
• Comply with all office operational requirements.
• Work well as a member of a residence team whose members have great longevity with the family.


 
 
Requirements:

• Minimum 10+ years of experience working as a Private Chef with longevity with previous families
• Must have managed Sous Chef position in past roles.
• Low ego and be open to feedback and improvements overall.
• Upbeat and transparent personality a must. Will interface directly with high profile guests.
• Ability to work on iPhone and Mac platforms as well as Outlook/PC platforms.
• Must hold the utmost discretion and confidentiality standards.
• Flexible schedule a must, hours vary greatly
• Legally able to work in the United States
• Valid Driver’s License; confident driver with zero points
• This position requires full time attention, no outside employment agreement required at hire.
