Private New York City-based family seeks a proactive, responsible, organized, and experienced House Manager / Butler to assist with the service, coordination, management, and maintenance of their primary Upper East Side residence. This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 6pm, with overriding flexibility for extended hours as needed and requested. This position requires travels to secondary residences where private accommodations will be provided. The House Manager/Butler will report directly to the Director of Properties. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, self-starter, and possess a “no task is too big or small” attitude. The candidate must have exceptional time management and task prioritization skills in order to efficiently assist with the running of the residences.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
• Running day-to-day household operations and overseeing all elements of hospitality, food, and beverage service
• Ensuring the residence is in pristine guest-readiness condition at all times
• Overseeing and managing guests’ arrivals and departures, including any special requests they might have
• Handling all aspects of meal set up including service (formal and informal) and bartending for Principals and guests
• Leading all event productions; working closely with Principal’s Personal Assistant
• Demonstrating a hands-on approach to daily house maintenance with the ability to assist the staff with hands-on tasks
• Coordinating travel arrangements for principals
• Coordinating and providing seamless transition for all seasonal moves to other residences
• Oversee all aspects of wardrobe maintenance; packing and unpacking suitcases for Principals
• Onboarding, training, and supervising domestic staff; implementing and maintaining highest standards at all times
• Interacting and maintaining relationships with vendors and contractors
• Providing concierge services for Principals and guests including activities and events
• Running personal errands

• Strong command of English language; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
• Minimum 5 – 7+ years related experience working in a similar role for a private home or family
• Must be physically agile and comfortable working around children and pets
• Detail oriented with exceptional organization and task management skills
• Experience working in high stress, fast-paced environments where the utmost discretion and confidentiality are required
• MUST have Outstanding service skills and knowledge in the food industry
• Proficiency in PC, Mac and Microsoft Office, as well as iPhone and Blackberry systems
• Flexibility in scheduling with willingness to work long hours and overtime as needed
• Proactive and driven attitude; willingness to succeed at all costs
• MUST be comfortable working with children and pets
• Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities
• Valid Drivers License; confident driver with zero points on license
• Valid Passport; willingness to travel alongside the family
• Legally able to work in the United States
