Description:

Prominent couple seek a proactive, sophisticated, organized and detail-oriented House Manager to assist with the service, coordination, management, and maintenance of their formal primary residence. The position is a full-time, live-out position and consists of a five-day workweek, with overriding flexibility as needed upon request for longer hours and travels to secondary residences in Texas, NYC, and Aspen. The ideal candidate will thrive in an ever-changing environment. Someone who has experience in formal homes, and who is cultured and well-traveled will do well in this role as the family wants someone who can uphold their high standards for the home.

A keen eye is important to preserve the aesthetic of the residence and the look and feel they like to uphold at in-home events. Strong formal food service skills are a must and a background in fine dining restaurants and/or high-end hotels is preferred as this person will be responsible for coordinating all in-home entertaining. Knowledge of fine fabrics and couture clothing is required as wardrobe maintenance is a part of the role. Leading by example is important as this person will be responsible for managing 3 other domestic staff members. The candidate must have exceptional communication, time management and task prioritization skills as this person will be liaising with a fast-paced family office.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
• Overseeing all elements of hospitality, food and beverage service within the residence
• Acting as a liaison to the lady and gentleman’s family office
• Personal shopping, running errands, and concierge work creating welcome baskets for guests; maintaining guest preference sheets
• Calendaring and making reservations for the principals
• Updating household inventories and procuring supplies
• Managing additional household staff
• Managing all vendor and contractor relationships including calendaring, accounts payable, project management, etc.
• Managing small and large event production
 
 
Requirements:

• Strong command of English language; superb communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
• Minimum 3 – 5+ years related experience working in a similar role for a private family Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year College or University a MAJOR PLUS
• Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities; above and beyond attitude
• Flexibility in scheduling with willingness to work long hours and overtime as needed
• Formal food and beverage service REQUIRED; cooking a PLUS
• Polished, poised, and professional; strong time management skills and task prioritization
• Incredibly hands-on approach to household management and service
• Comfortable and confident working in high stress, fast-paced environments where the utmost discretion and confidentiality are required
• Exceptional eye for detail and organizational skills, aesthetically-minded
• Ability to understand and manage different personalities and styles within the same household
• Technology savvy with proficiency in both Mac and PC systems
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record and zero points on license
• Valid US Passport, willing and able to travel domestically and internationally
• Legally able to work within the United States
