Prominent Art Foundation seeks an entrepreneurial, motivated and passionate individual to serve as the Director of Development. The Director of Development will provide overall leadership to the Foundation. The scope of responsibility includes fundraising and donor relations, audience development, strategic planning and execution, marketing/advertising, external and community relations, volunteer and personnel management and the overall operational, financial, and administrative management of the organization. This is a full-time position, generally 9:00am-6:00pm, but with OVERRIDING flexibility to work additional hours and reply to correspondence on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities and areas of needed expertise include, but are not limited to:
• Protecting, driving, and building organizational culture, by creating organizational processes and driving efficiencies to ensure that the organization is running effectively and providing support to the artists
• Managing and overseeing all board relations; working with the board to set the vision of the Foundation and to lead the strategic planning process
• Collaborating with the Foundation board and working with the intention of building and maintaining meaningful relationships with the members
• Engaging and soliciting board members, identifying board needs, overseeing board giving
• Developing board processes, including new member orientation and board committee meetings; setting board expectations and responsibilities
• Developing relationships with institutional partners, foundations, schools, donors and corporate sponsors
• Identifying new earned and unearned revenue streams; creating and executing a development plan and calendar
• Creating, monitoring, and adjusting the annual budget; developing quarterly financial reports; estimating and ensuring consistent cash flow
• Building networks in the education, arts, and business communities by communicating the vision externally and serving as an ambassador; developing and implementing communication plans
• Building relationships with other non-profit organizations which have a similar mission
• Managing all aspects of grant research, inclusive of writing and submissions
• Additional Director duties as they may arise

• Strong command of English language; outstanding writing and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4 year College or University REQUIRED; Master’s degree A PLUS
• Excellent references from all previous and current employers; superior longevity in previous positions
• Minimum 5+ years experience in leadership roles within the corporate or non-profit sectors; proven track-record of success and sustainability in those roles
• Experience in high-level fundraising for a similar organization A MUST
• Proven success leading people, teams, and board members in diverse and collaborative environments
• Demonstrated success in developing relationships and raising funds, overseeing the financial and organizational operations, marketing, and building supportive communities
• Experienced in navigating complex relationships, engaging important stakeholders, thinking innovatively, and solving problems creatively
• Computer savvy with proficiency in both Mac and PC systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, smartphone systems and email correspondence
• Drive to succeed at all costs while on the job; proactive and positive attitude; passion for the area of work
• Polished, poised and professional in both mindset and manor; use of utmost discretion at all times
• Legally able to work for any employer in the United States
