High-profile Los Angeles based family seeks an experienced, highly organized, and thorough House Manager / Butler to oversee, manage, and maintain their large East Hampton estate and multiple guest houses on 10-acres, inclusive of a horse farm. The estate is staffed year-round with 4 Housekeepers, an Assistant House Manager and a Houseman, with additional support from other residences in the busy summer season. Because there is a large Domestic Staff, strong management skills and techniques are of the utmost importance. This position is live-out with flexibility to travel to the family’s Manhattan residence as needed.
The House Manager will serve as an all around gatekeeper to the principals when the family is on the East Coast and have frequent communication with the family office that is based on the West Coast. The role additionally entails packing and unpacking, maintaining inventories, overseeing housekeeping, food service, interior and exterior vendors, and additional duties as required. The candidate will have a strong ability to lead by example while seamlessly facilitating the communication between the principals and family office to the staff and multiple vendors, architects, and interior decorators.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Managing and providing full-time care of the family’s residence in East Hampton, NY
• Maintaining museum quality cleanliness throughout the home with attention to bedrooms, special surfaces and bathrooms, etc.
• Communicating directly with principals and family office to ensure standards and expectations are met
• Training, scheduling, and hiring all internal domestic staff
• Controlling, maintaining, and streamlining property and household expenses
• Supervising food and beverage service and providing formal service upon request for luncheons, dinner parties, etc. including table set-up, floral arrangements, bartending, wine pouring and pairing and guest greeting as needed
• Coordination with Private Chef to coordinate meals and events
• Overseeing all renovations, remodeling, and building maintenance
• Heavy organization throughout the home including pantries, kitchen, closets, etc.
• Maintaining and updating all AV and security systems
• Ensuring property is secure and meets all safety needs
• Personal Assistant related duties as needed including shopping, stock level management, special requests, etc.

• Excellent command of the English language
• Minimum 3-5+ years related professional experience serving in a similar role for a private family
• Minimum 10-15+ years working in high-end hospitality or domestic management
• Exceptional organization skills and multitask management; able to undertake both macro and micro projects in and around the residence
• Professional mindset and manor; constant use of discretion and confidentiality a MUST
• Strong housekeeping experience, ability to lead a team of 4–8 Housekeepers
• Strong command of food service as well as wine knowledge and pairing
• Ability to lead a team to perform formal and informal food and beverage service
• Able to work in a household with animals including dogs and horses
• Ability to hire, train, and schedule staff
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required
• Ability to control household budgets and vendor negotiation
• Willingness and ability to maintain automobiles and machinery
• Valid Drivers Licens
